Wiki Dating?

Julian Assange at OKCupid.com?

Julian Assange at OKCupid.com?

Does Julian Assange really have an OKcupid.com dating profile?
I bet he’s seeing a lot of hits now… even with the “false name” and very interesting profile he had posted…

Read the Village Voice interview with OKcupid.com here and there’s even a link to check out Julian Assange’s profile (a little stale with the last recorded login date of December 2009 at the time of this disclosure, but nonetheless).

Photo note: This photo, which appears on OKCupid, is credited to Martina Haris and was placed in the public domain on the instruction of Julian Assange.

Dating Profile Headline of the Day

A Saturday mellow.

A Saturday mellow.

Saturday

Wow, the morning after a party is either a hung-over moment or a cleanup moment.

I’m going to play the hung-over card and clean up later.

Which struck me as a great headline, because when you’re versatile and dependable you have a set of skills that many people lack or quite simply, they misuse.

So, today, show off more of your good points with this headline:
“I can keep cleaning when I’m hung over and down(metaphorically).”

Have a great day!

Dating Profile Headline of the Day

Does a thunderstorm bring on a bad day?

Does a thunderstorm bring on a bad day?

Monday

I’m going to enjoy today, no matter what happens.

I have some work scheduled to be completed in the house I just moved to, there’s a new leak discovered in the roof, courtesy a very loud afternoon thunderstorm that has scared our smaller dog so badly she still won’t come out from under the bed (wimpy dogs suck!), and my new 100Mbps router’s wireless function won’t work, no matter what I do (SMCD3GN from Shaw) so I’ve got to return it tomorrow for a simple cable modem and get my own router. This way the wife can complain and the router not working and it’s my fault, instead of complaining about the router’s wireless not working and it’s some nameless guy working for a big careless corporation, which never get’s old, let me tell you…

But that really is just the beginning of my Monday woes, I’m sure. But I’m hopeful that I’m wrong…

It will have to be a short work day, with all the opening of doors, exchanging routers, buying routers and waiting for the carpenter to arrive sometime Monday.

Thank goodness I have understanding bosses (yes, I have more than just “Boss Wife” to watch over my work).

All of that being said I hope your Monday will be better. Check your free horoscope and maybe the stars can guide you through the day or prepare you at the very least.

To get on the right footing for the day, and week, about to start, I want you to think of meeting that very special someone today. The headline you wrote just “popped out” and grabbed that special someone’s attention with such vigor that they emailed you before finishing their frozen dinner meal.

The headline that did the job was this one you posted:
“Are you game to play Life?”

Have a great day!

Dating Profile Headline of the Day

Today’s dating profile suggestion for you is something that’s quite simple:
a great headline.

Simple, right?

It is when you try this simple exercise: Introduce yourself to yourself.

If you didn’t know you, how would you say hello to yourself, if you were somebody else, that is.

Would you simply say “Hi, my name is…” or would these be the magic words, “Hi, I like long walks…”

If you answered neither then you win this part of the test.

A dating profile headline is unlike any other type of writing or introduction that you’ll ever use. You have a limited number of words/characters to use to catch someone’s attention, interest and even to attract them.

When you write your headline, dive right into something fun to say. Start with the end of a joke, the middle of a famous quote, the beginning of a movie or song title can work well too.

So, I have this suggestion for you to post today:
“This Is It! And I hope you like it too!”

Have a great day!

How to complete the “Description” essay question in an online profile

How to complete the “Description” essay question in an online profile.

Many people are absolutely flummoxed when it comes time to complete the “Description” essay question about yourself.

They write things like taking walks on a beach, what they like to do on holiday (like anyone gets a real holiday these days and not a “staycation”) and other such dribble.

Not interesting at all, not a single word of it. And moreover, these types of answers come off as complete dribble bordering on lies, completely uninteresting and unattractive.

Go ahead, read some “Descriptions” in the dating service of your choice, just search for a person like you and do some reading, I’ll wait.

What you saw and read was garbage, tripe and unattractive strings of words that didn’t take you anywhere, right?

The real idea behind this “Description” (some sites may call it “Info” or something close) is for you to reveal parts of your life that you enjoy on a regular basis. If you’re unsure, or think your life not worth writing about that way, take a moment and follow what I say next:
Write down on a piece of paper two days of your weekly life. One day might be about the work you do, how you get there, and what you do after work, what your usual things are that you do after work, your home chores, whatever you do on that day.

The second day should be maybe a weekend day, or another day off from work, and what you do on that day. Sleeping in, chores, shopping, hanging out with friends, whatever.

The goal here is to personalize as much as possible the regularness of your life, so you are seen as a real person in your online dating profile.

Remember, you’re not being judged, you’re being “introduced”.

You now have the skills to complete your profile better and more confidently write about yourself when asked by your choice of dating service to talk about yourself.

Best of luck!
