Things To Do On A First Date

Make your first date great!

Make your first date great!

The first date, when put into perspective, is a magical time.

Think of it: all the things you do with your date will be “firsts”. And when you can share that magic, you really do share something special.

Great first dates include natural magic that you can share, whether it’s a walk in a nature preserve, a guided tour of a popular tourist spot, even a simple and fun game of mini-golf can help you find, and share, the magic that makes two people a couple.

You need to do things that allow you to interact together, not like watching a movie where you both are fixated on something else (the movie), and not something the other person is doing with you, together, and sharing an experience.

To make a first date great, a first date that will invite a second date and more, you want to be open and friendly and, as a warning, do not share any negative thoughts or ideas.

Be open to fun and laughter.

Going back to the mini-golf idea, this is a great example of having fun and even laughing at yourself as you shoot an 18 on a par 3 hole. Let the windmills guide you into a fun place that envelopes the both of you. Do not be harsh as your date flubs one putt after another. Do. Together.

Great first date ideas are not what can you watch but what can you do.

Is there a farm that is open to the public near you? have you ever petted a goat? Or milked one?

Maybe there is a garden maze nearby. Have you ever walked through a botanical garden maze or a corn field maze? You can both get lost, together. Just don’t lose your patience, everyone is allowed to make a wrong turn now and again.

Visiting a museum is a great first date. This allows you to both share the experience of seeing the past unfold before your very eyes.

Conversations during your first date should be about the things that are in front of you or around you. Do not talk at length about your fascinating hobby of “ship in a bottle” building. Certainly, although you find the subject interesting, your date will accept the distress call from a family member or friend and end the date unceremoniously.

Beware the downfall of your ego and talking about yourself too much. Remember, the best conversationalist is a great listener, allowing your date to answer questions that show interest in them is a sure way to increase their attraction towards you.

A final word of advice: relax.
