Friday’s Best Conversation Topics

I am a firm believer that there can only be one truth. One truth for me is one truth for you, is the same truth for the both of us. Anything else has to be a lie spoken against you and me. Life really is that simple.

This week’s best news stories to talk about show the lie and how what is true for me can be a lie for you. Or at least for embattled Rep. Anthony Weiner. Let’s get started.

- “Weinergate” has quickly overtaken Representative’s Anthony Weiner’s job and it seems that’s all any political reporters are concentrating on. Was his twitter account hacked? Does his wife of 1 year worry? Will he ever answer the questions: “Are these your balls?” I could have fun all day with this, but I’ll spare you more details in this post because if you really want to follow this news (?) story, start clicking here. (June 6th follow-up news story.)

- James Arness, of ‘Gunsmoke’ fame died at 88. I find it interesting that he’s such a thoroughly searched term on Google when most people of the internet age have likely not even seen the show ‘Gunsmoke‘. Am I dating myself?

- It seems that Sony will never get security right. Should we be scared? Luckily (I hope) I only use my PS3 for games on disk, 1 player, not online and don’t have a paid subscriber account. Also for Netflix. seriously, should I be scared? Gizmodo offers a database check so you can see if your info has been stolen (compromised?), so why wait for Sony to tell you in a few weeks or so.

- Saggy pants? No ride in Texas. Yes, it’s true, if you wear saggy pants that expose your underwear or ass(crack) you cannot board a bus in Fort Worth, Texas. I’d like to say that I agree with the policy and will forward a copy of the story to my local city council. I believe that pants that hang so low that an ass(crack) is visible are a safety hazard in case of emergency. Just my opinion, now with a little legality behind it.
