Dating Profile Headline of the Day
Today I have a special treat for you: a story from my childhood that I like to share with my kids.
When I was a young lad, nine or ten years old, my family consisted of a single mom and my younger brother. My sister was living with relatives because we were very poor.
There was a time when my mom was out of work and we had to move out of the apartment we were in because she couldn’t pay the rent.. Unfortunately, because of the lack of money all we could do was move into the local park that was under a highway on-ramp. We begged for food and slept under trees, with rocks as pillows. We had to wash with wet leaves, as there was no running water under the highway on-ramp.
This was a very hard time for me. No home, no pets, no TV or anything but the clothes we had in boxes and each other.
Of course this story is patently false, but with each telling it grew a little bit in hard times and sacrifice. Once my kids became older they were able to pick my story apart and discover i’s inconsistencies.
Now then, I tell you this story so that you can learn from my efforts: no matter how good the story, if it isn’t true it’s too hard to remember all the fine points and sooner or later you’ll be discovered as a liar (in my case I said I was ‘pretending’ to remember my younger years and might have mixed things up).
This is also true of online dating profiles. The truer you write it the apologizinge easier it is to talk about yourself later. If you have to “correct” yourself about yourself when you connect with someone, you’ll quickly lose their interest.
The moral of this story: Truth is the most attractive quality you can have.
For your headline today, be honest and post this:
“You won’t find me apologizing for who I am”.
Have a great day!
