Give yourself a head start (and a break) for the coming year.
3 Resolutions You Need To Make
I am not a big fan of resolutions. I find that they lead to feelings of regret rather than reward. Over and over again, it’s easier to see where you’ve given up instead of coming out on top and ahead.
But I will share with you these three resolutions that should be easier to follow (and have helped me greatly year after year).
- Identify change to make and work towards making it happen
- Live your live, not someone else’s idea of what your life should be
- Don’t repeat mistakes
Each one of the above can be a guide on their own, as your one and only resolution. Or be bold and take on all three.
The only person that challenge and change matters to is you. Everyone else is not in your shoes. They don’t walk with you through every moment, live through every doubt, relive every shattered dream.
“A better job? More money? Love?”
Blah, blah blah. You’ll hear these tired tropes all the time.
It’s easier to say than do and we all have tried to do.
One of the stumbling blocks we have towards change is telling others our plans before they are in full motion. Once you expose your plans of a “better you”, and it doesn’t happen, a slump starts to eat away at you.
“Everyone else can do it” you may think, “so why can’t you?”
The honest answer is, others cannot do it. Success can sometimes just be in the eye of the beholder. Sure, there are examples we’d like to follow. But you cannot follow their footsteps. Their challenges are different from yours.
When you have a guide, it’s easier to tackle what you want to be better at.
A true challenge does not have one participant. There’s a coach involved, and others available for encouragement.
It’s time for you to find your coach. And to give yourself an honest chance at really liking yourself again.
Thanks for reading. Best of luck in life and love.
