You need to print out the order form once you have found someone you’d like to contact and order their snail mail address, when required. (Inmates cannot receive email.) Then you can begin your correspondence. There is also a free membership form that will have CellPals forward your name, address and other information to inmates that are looking for a penpal and you are responsible for your own stamps, envelopes and supplies. A third option is an annual membership that maintains your privacy by forwarding your letters through the CellPals service to keep hidden your name and address until you feel it is safe to reveal it to your prison penpal. A fourth option lists the inmates current address and you can begin sending letters right away. It is important to read through this service and understand the terms of use. As well, there are links to state and federal online services that will allow you to verify some information before you decide to begin a penpal relationship with an inmate.
