Membership is free and is a two-step process to join. Most members have included their photo and a video messages as well as their mobile phone (kept anonymous) to receive SMS messages from members of DatetheUK.com with their profile.

The Date the UK front page is well designed to make joining simple. It is a two step process, you must join using your location and an email address them retrieve the email to receive your username and password to login before you can do anything.

Once you have logged in you can begin to browse or search for other members, you can send SMS messages to online members (these are called 'flirts') through your mobile phone or the online SMS form.

Standard members can save other member profiles to the favorites block members from viewing your profile, save advanced searches and check your account activity (who has looked at your profile).

Described as not the biggest but the best UK dating service I have to admit, I like what I found during this review. The signup was a little cumbersome, you complete the basic registration then retrieve the email that is sent to you for your login details.

Two steps to enter the service, no shortcuts. I guess it keeps out the time wasters that are online dating just to kill an evening. However, once you have logged in the first time you have plenty left to do: complete your profile by answering five areas of questions, upload your pictures, add you mobile number (for SMS messages and wireless dating), as well as adding video and audio messages to your profile.

The profile navigation and member browse/search is well designed offering many options that will allowing standard (free) members to find online members to flirt with (via SMS or the SMS online page) but for contact emails and sending replying to messages and chat you need to be an upgraded member.

There are a variety of member packages starting with a 3 day package to test out DateTheUK.com, so if you’re not ready for a long membership but have found someone interesting to meet, start with the 3 day pass.
